For this year's National Park trip, Mom and I drove to Las Vegas to pick up Courtenay and then continued to Bryce Canyon. On the first afternoon, we drove all the way out to Rainbow Point and walked the Bristlecone Loop trail. The next morning, we hiked the Navajo and Queen's Garden Loop and stopped for a late lunch at Bryce Canyon Lodge. Before leaving, we hiked the Mossy Cave Trail, though the waterfall was barely a trickle by September.
We entered the park from the east and drove through the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel. In the late afternoon we took the park shuttle to The Grotto to see hikers summiting Angel's Landing, then walked to Zion Canyon Lodge for dinner. On the second day we took the shuttle all the way to the end to hike The Narrows.
